On The Edge Presents: Ishmel Colion

Known by his stage name Ishmel Colion, is an Independent American rapper, writer, and producer. He is the Co-founder and CEO of Gorilla Money Cartel and one half of the duo Rubberband Clan. Being raised around music he was influenced at a very young age running around the house as a toddler hollering "I Need A Beat." His inspiration stems from music of the 70's and 80's from artist such as Minnie Rippleton, Smokey Robinson, Luther Vandross to name a few. As a young boy around the age of seven he would sneak around in his room remixing and sampling rap songs while playing around making up his own lyrics to the songs. One day while in class he was mimicking a 2 live crew album which landed him in trouble with his Teacher. After hearing what he had done his mother made him finish what he was doing and entered him in a local talent contest; ever since he has had a passion for
performing on stage. Over the years music became his passion and at the age of 19 he got heavy into rap music and becoming a rapper. His musical influences come from artist like T.I, Outkast, Big L, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Jay Z, Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar to name a few. After graduating High School he went to college taking up Business Management as his field of study, planning to one day turn his own business into an empire. In the past couple of years he has released three projects including projects with his Rubberband Clan mate Skinny. He is currently working on his new project set to be released summer 2013. You can catch him in the studio 2-3 times a week working on this project. This artist is performing in cities such as Wisconsin, Atlanta and Nashville in local bars and clubs such as F5, The Rutledge and Center Stage. Ishmel Colion is on the rise so get familiar with the name.
